Auntie Alexis Encouraging Carra in a Really High Pitched Voice

We Got to Babysit Connor & Carra!!!!!

What a beautiful baby. She is so happy, and strong, and wants to see everything and I just love her to pieces.

Here's big brother Connor riding his bike.

As you can see, Piper was quite taken with baby Carra, and had no time for any jealousy when I held her (I admit it, I hogged the baby from Dave).

And here is our handsome nephew once again. Love those kids! Piper and Connor had a blast playing together, and then Matt and Rhonda made us delicious grilled ribeyes. Thanks for a great dinner, Uncle Matt & Auntie Rhonda! Posted by Picasa

Rememberance Day

Today is Rememberance Day, and in honour of my Grandma Bee, I wanted to post a little about her experiences in World War II. Grandma was considered too young to go into the Canadian Armed Forces Nursing Unit, so she instead decided to sign up with the South African Nurses as she believed it was her responsibility to help in the war effort wherever she could. She spent the majority of her time in North Africa, where she even climbed to the top of the pyramids in Egypt. She was considered quite a catch by the servicemen and has more stories about her various romances than we'll ever know. Grandma Bee just turned 90 years young on October 8th, and I am very proud of all her accomplishments, both on the battlefield overseas and her tireless work as a public health nurse in the interior of British Columbia.

As this is also November 11th, we want to wish our cousins, Cade and Kyra, a very happy 3rd birthday!!!

A Walk at Adams River

Adams River Part II

Here you can see the bright red live salmon still swimming to their spawning grounds before they die and face the machetes.

More woods, more walking. It was cold! Posted by Picasa

The Adams River Sockeye Salmon Run

These are guys from Fisheries Department who count all the dead salmon by spearing then and then hacking off their tails with machetes. Not quite what we were expecting to see on our walk!
